Part of a novel I'm writing about the life of a queen in Ancient Rome. It is called Meg. Hope you like it.
It was
a quiet morning in Rome. Meg woke up naked, lying on her husband’s chest. She
felt such a wonderful sensation being like that, that it made her days. She
felt, as I if it had been the first time, how soft and firm the king’s skin
was; and she smiled, thinking how lucky she was.
Nicholas
woke up. His eyes found the queen: a beautiful sight. Her black sapphire hair
immersed him in Heaven as, without saying a word (because they didn’t need to),
they kissed, and so between the soft morning sunshine they searched for, and
loved each other.
They
didn’t want to cross the bridge that kept their dream world away from reality,
ruled by Pluto. However, they had to do it.
Nicholas
was the first to wake up. Meg sat on the bed, watching her husband for a while.
Then she stood up and got dressed. After some minutes, Nicholas approached her,
put his arms around her waist and kissed her neck. Meg closed her eyes. She
felt that playful tickle her husband’s lips were making. Then she turned around
and kissed the king with passionate delicacy. Their eyes shone as they met.
- I
haven’t said how much I love you today. – said the king.
Meg
smiled. Her look was the one full of fire that captivated her beloved.
-It’s
true, your vocal chords haven’t hit those notes; but your eyes are telling mine,
your lips have whispered it softly and your hands have drawn it in every corner
of my skin as well.
Then they
kissed again, in the Roman passionate way, and left the room together, to give
a brave welcome to the daily rush of the outside world.
